Las Vegas Side Trips

packing tips for traveling abroad

There are many interesting side trips from the Strip that you might not have known about if you're a new visitor to Vegas. While many people associate Las Vegas with gambling and glitz and glamor, there are many other things to see and do in the Sin City. We spoke last week about some of those hidden gems outside of the Strip.

Jeff German

German has expanded his podcasting efforts over the last few year. He created a series called "Mobbed Up, The Fight For Vegas" about fighting organized crime. It was produced by both the Review-Journal as well as the Mob Museum. This series featured the unscrupulous characters who lived in Las Vegas Valley between the 1970s to the 1980s.

His reporting uncovered political corruption and three decades of organized crime in Las Vegas. Most notable, he broke news of the 2017 mass shooting which saw more than 60 victims and injured. He also wrote a true-crime novel about a mob connection in this area. He also broke the story in 1998 of Ted Binion’s murder. He worked also with a CNN analyst to cover the Binion story.

Lance Lipinsky

Lance Lipinsky (pianist and writer) grew in Texas and moved from Texas to Las Vegas to try and recreate his success as a musician. He started writing original material and perfected his live entertainment skills while in Vegas. His career started when he was just 17 years old, when he was found on the Las Vegas strip.

Lipinsky, the great-grandson of Charlie Rich (Fats Domino) and Charlie Rich (Charlie Rich), is an entertainer. With a high-energy performance, he performs classic Country music and 60s pop. He also encourages audience participation.

Velveteen Rabbit

Originally from Philadelphia, "The Velveteen Rabbit" is a colorful and enchanting mix of mime, music, and stage magic. The production features a 10-foot-tall body puppet named Nana, who is a nurse to the rabbit. The shadows of the other adult characters are all that can be seen. The show runs Monday to Saturday, from 7 p.m. till 1 a.m.

Encore Boston Harbor

The Encore Boston Harbor in Everett Massachusetts is just a short drive from the Logan International Airport. There are many colleges and universities nearby. The tall building is visible from major roads. It towers above Mystic. This is a great spot for a weekend getaway in Boston.

Which countries have the best cuisine?

Food varies from country to country. So it's hard to say which countries have the best food.

We can however tell you which countries offer the best food!

According to TripAdvisor users:

  • Italy - Italy was voted #1 by TripAdvisor users because of its incredible food.
  • France - France was second due to its rich culture.
  • Spain - Spain was third due to its beautiful beaches and great weather.

How much luggage should you take?

The length and type of trip will dictate how much luggage to take. Hand baggage is usually limited to 20 kg if you travel by plane. For a bus or train ride, however, you will require more space.

A form will be provided to you when you arrive at the airport with information about your flight. This will include information such as the weight of your bags and whether you require assistance when checking them in.

This must be done before you leave your home. If you don’t, you may end up sitting around waiting while everyone else goes through their bags.

Because you never know what could happen, it is better to travel light. If your bag is lost or damaged, you will not have any clothes.

How long does a flight take between two countries.

The distance between two airports and the weather conditions affect the time taken to fly.

Average flight time is about 3 hours.

However, the flight time depends on many factors such as airline, aircraft types, delays at airports, weather conditions and other factors.

Are you worried about losing something while you're on the road?

Yes, I often forget stuff. This is more common when I go on a short trip. But luckily, I always have everything with me, so I never run out of anything.

For example, I always have my passport with me. I also make sure to have enough money for any purchase of tickets.

Also, I always take my phone charger. To store any other items, I keep them in a small bag.
